Judging from the look on local art teacher Tracey Burnett’s face, the Dawson County Arts Council scored big. Former DCAC board member Tracey, a Dawson elementary school teacher, was in need of supplies to help her art classes. Tracey’s friend and 2013 Vice President, Pat Cavanaugh, decided DCAC could help out. A Christmas “Wish Tree” with tags listing needed school art supplies was placed at the Bowen Center for the Arts and again, gracious members showed their true nature and brought in enough supplies to last Ms. Burnett until the end of the school year. There were even art supplies sent in boxes from out-of-town visitors to the Center. The spirit of giving never dies throughout the ages. The art supply program will become a year-round project for DCAC. The Dawson County Arts Council prides itself on the art of giving back to the community. “Come be a part of the arts!” says Pat Cavanaugh, 2014 Board President.
Thank you to all who helped out with this project.
