Students joined us for a fun filled day and made modern take-everywhere totes using traditional weaving techniques. LaVonne Markel has been creating baskets for several years and had all the tips and techniques needed for a beautiful work of art. All basket materials was provided and included in the cost of the class.
Class is limited to 6 students and no experience is required. Lots of useful info for continuing to produce baskets in your own will be shared by the instructor. We will use traditional rattan reed and cotton shaker tape to produce this handy 9 inch tote. A variety of color choices will be available to chose from. Students will need to bring an apron, dishpan or wide bucket, sharp tipped sturdy craft scissors, an old small towel, and a small flathead screwdriver or small awl.
