On the Go…Transportation Show held its reception for the Artists and Writers who entered the juried show. All Photographs in this post are courtesy of John Edwards.
The show also included models and exhibits from local sources.
Thanks to Ben Read of Dawsonville, Howie Tompkins of Dawsonville, Jon Dahlstrom of Dahlonega, James Murray of Dawsonville and Jack Cane of Dahlonega for their collections that they shared. It is worth the trip to the Bowen to see them.
The jurists for this show included GeorgeAnn Moore, an artist from Gainesville and Sarah Claussen from Dahlonega, Georgia who juried the 2 D and 3D art entries.
Cynthia Todd Won Best in Show for “Catching the Train” (pictured above), Jim Fambrough won 2nd Place with “Passing View” and 3rd was Susan Richardson with “Amen Corner”. Dru Stowers won Honorable Mention for “Heading South”. All the works in the show are thought provoking and unique.
The writing jurist was John Scott, economics professor at North Georgia University. He chose Paul Schiemer’s, “Colorado. Morning Flash. Pontchartrain. Four of Diamonds” as the best writing piece. G.M. Jones won 2nd place with “The Model-T and the Moonshine Still” and Honorable Mention was “Travelin’ Lady Z: A Short Story” by Lou Sturiale.
These works are on display at the Bowen. There will be a reading forth coming in January. Watch this space for more information.
